The 2025 Annual General Meeting took place on Sunday 2nd March. Derek Johnson re elected as Chair, Mike Solomon re elected as Secretary and Mac Smith re elected as Treasurer. Nora Burbridge stepped down after many years on the committee and was replaced by Judith McLane. Nora was given an appreciative round of applause from the floor. The rest of the committee remained – Dave Okell, Peter Lowe, Pat Memery and Peter Cartman.

Tyneside Quaich – Monday 24th June 2024 held at Tyneside Croquet Club.

Tyneside won the Quaich with 3 wins against Middlesbrough 2 wins and Belsay Hall 1 win.

  • The Tyneside Quaich was presented to TCC jointly by Bruce Rannie and David Appleton in 2008 which introduced a new 3 way club teams tournament between Belsay Hall CC, Middlesbrough CC and Tyneside CC. The format is AC Advanced with Bisques Alternate Stroke Doubles team championship with each club entering 2 doubles teams. The purpose encourages mid range handicap players who are ready to play AC Advanced being teamed up with an experienced lower handicap player already familiar with Advanced play by use of alternate stroke and bisques to gain knowledge of the different format of Advanced play to Handicap play.
  • A Quaich is a shallow bowl with 2 handles, designed to drink from – originated in Scotland).
